Faith Meinzen is the fourth grade teacher at Hope
Lutheran School in Shawnee, KS since August of 2000. She also
directs the third through eighth grade choirs.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree in
December, 1975 from Concordia University in Seward, NE. She
majored in music and minored in math.
She received a call to teach third grade at Topeka Lutheran
School in Topeka, KS and to direct the children's choir and
be assistant organist at Faith Lutheran Church. She later became
their head organist.
After her husband Steve graduated from Kansas University in
mechanical engineering, the two of them moved to Waterloo, IA
where he worked with John Deere. Faith taught fifth grade at
Immanuel Lutheran School there. She also directed the children's
and youth choirs and served as head organist at Grace Lutheran
Church.
It was in Waterloo that the couple had their first two sons,
Seth and Luke, and Faith decided to stay home with them.
The couple was transferred to various locations with John
Deere. Though Faith continued to stay at home, she continued
her music ministry. She directed children's, adult and bell
choirs and served as organist at congregations in Grand Island,
NE, Manchester, IA, Champaign, Illinois, and Davenport and Bettendorf,
IA.
Faith and Steve have three sons; Seth, Luke and Christopher.
After Luke graduates from BVNW this spring, both he and Seth
will be attending college. Chris will enter high school next
fall.
The family loves sport. Seth does crew at Marietta College.
Luke played high school football and track. Chris plays basketball.
They all enjoy sand volleyball.
Faith loves to serve her Lord by working with children and
music.
