Fourth Grade Teacher

Faith Meinzen

Faith Meinzen is the fourth grade teacher at Hope Lutheran School in Shawnee, KS since August of 2000. She also directs the third through eighth grade choirs.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree in December, 1975 from Concordia University in Seward, NE. She majored in music and minored in math.

She received a call to teach third grade at Topeka Lutheran School in Topeka, KS and to direct the children's choir and be assistant organist at Faith Lutheran Church. She later became their head organist.

After her husband Steve graduated from Kansas University in mechanical engineering, the two of them moved to Waterloo, IA where he worked with John Deere. Faith taught fifth grade at Immanuel Lutheran School there. She also directed the children's and youth choirs and served as head organist at Grace Lutheran Church.

It was in Waterloo that the couple had their first two sons, Seth and Luke, and Faith decided to stay home with them.

The couple was transferred to various locations with John Deere. Though Faith continued to stay at home, she continued her music ministry. She directed children's, adult and bell choirs and served as organist at congregations in Grand Island, NE, Manchester, IA, Champaign, Illinois, and Davenport and Bettendorf, IA.

Faith and Steve have three sons; Seth, Luke and Christopher. After Luke graduates from BVNW this spring, both he and Seth will be attending college. Chris will enter high school next fall.

The family loves sport. Seth does crew at Marietta College. Luke played high school football and track. Chris plays basketball. They all enjoy sand volleyball.

Faith loves to serve her Lord by working with children and music.
