Diane began her years at Hope Lutheran Preschool in August of 1980. Her
career at Hope between 1980 and August 2001 included teaching three, four,
and five-year-old students and serving as the Director of the Early Childhood
Program. In 1992, Diane became an Early Childhood Consultant for the Kansas
District-Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Through this partnership with the
Kansas District, she jointly founded the Kansas District Early Childhood
Ministry. Diane served ten years as an Early Childhood Consultant and
six years on the Educators' Conference Committee. She has presented both at
conferences and at individual congregations
In the summer of 2001, God called Diane to a new service in His Kingdom.
Diane moved down the hall from the preschool to the Day School with a new title,
first grade teacher.
Diane was baptized, confirmed, and married at Zion Lutheran Church in
Belleville, Illinois. Both of her sons were also baptized at Zion, Belleville.
The Eichholz moved to Shawnee in 1975 and became members of the family of Hope.
Her daughter was born the following May and was baptized at Hope, July 4, 1976
by Pastor Bill Hansen.
Diane graduated from Belleville Township High School, Belleville, Illinois,
received her Bachelor of Science in Education from St. Mary College, and earned
her Masters of Education from MidAmerica Nazarene College.
Diane's interests, outside of school, center around the love for her family.
Her family enjoys games, movies, and travel. Together the family renovated her
daughter's first home which was originally built in 1930. Among her various
collections at home are nativities and trees, snowmen and angels.
