General Information
The 5k and 10k run/walk will start and finish in the Hope Lutheran church and School parking lot, located on the southwest corner of Shawnee Mission Parkway and Quivira Road in Shawnee (6308 Quivira Road, Shawnee, KS 66216)The 5k and 10k course is certified by the Kansas City Track Club. They will officiate the start and finish line, as well as the timing and results. The results will be posted at www.mararunning.org.

Safety
Pets, bikes, rollerblades, motorized vehicles and headsets are NOT permitted. Only walkers may use baby strollers. Animals are prohibited except those assisting the blind.

Registration
Three different registration options exist:

  1. Register online at www.active.com.
  2. Download a pdf file with the registration form and mail prior to September 15th. (CLICK HERE)
  3. Walk-up registration during packet pick-up times (see below) for an extra $5 per person.

Packet Pick-up
Race packets will be available for pick-up at the west end of Hope Lutheran School at the following times:

  - Thursday, September 21st, 4 – 8 pm
  - Friday, September 22nd, 4 – 8 pm
  - Saturday, September 23rd, 6 – 7:30 am

Race Course
The race course starts and ends at the Hope Lutheran Church and School parking lot.

  1 loop of the course = 5k / 3.1 miles
  2 loops of the course = 10k / 6.2 miles

Parking
No parking will be allowed in the Hope Lutheran Church and School lot due to the race activities. Parking will be available in two designated areas:

- Grass lawn south of Church parking lot, accessible from Halsey.

- Shawnee Village Center parking lot, SE corner of Quivira and Shawnee Mission Parkway

Awards
An award presentation will occur following the event. The overall top 3 male and female 5k and 10k runners will be awarded trophies. The top 3 males and female 5k and 10k runners in each age group will receive medals (0-8, 9-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+).

Breakfast is Served!
Following the race, join us for an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast, including sausage links, orange juice and coffee. The price is $5 for adults and $3 for children 10 & under. Prepayment is available with your registration. Stick around and have a great breakfast, listen to inspiring music, and watch participants cross the finish line.

Pie Auction
Hope Lutheran’s famous Live Pie Auction begins immediately following the Awards Presentation. Take a pie home to enjoy after the race!

Ribbons of Hope
Consider making an additional donation of $10 or more to honor a loved one touched by cancer. You will be given a special ribbon to wear in the event to show your support, and another ribbon will hang on a recognition display in the finish line area. See the registration form for more details. Additional ribbons will be available the morning of the event as well.
