Bible Study

Sunday Morning

Adult Sunday Morning Bible Studies
Pre-Lent/Lent Session
January 29-April 1

Law & Gospel
A study based on Walther's teaching on this important subject. In the Bible God speaks to us with two distinct voices, and it's vital that we distinguish them. We will use the Reader's Edition from CPH, Law & Gospel: How to Read and Apply the Bible.

Leaders:  Pastors
Location:  Luther Room

Exploring God's Word: Old Testament
Get the "big picture" and gain a broader understanding of what the Bible means when viewed as a whole-not simply as a collection of individual books. This class will help you apply Scripture's literature and themes to your life.

Leader:
 Rick Hanebutt
Location:  FLC Commons

A Christian View of Medical Ethics
Medical dilemmas come into the lives of many Christians and our secular society does not always provide appropriate ethical and moral support. For example, with sono-graphy used routinely, the challenge of dealing with an abnormal baby in utero is common. And, how can we best care for our parents and other loved ones when they near the ends of their lives? The class leaders, both medical doctors, will present actual medical cases, with salient ethical issues identified for discussion. Pastors Roger Schepmann and Eugene Stohs will serve as theological advisors.

Leaders:  Drs. Fred & Grace Holmes
Location:  Room 208

Cross: We suffer with Jesus - "Spirituality" is big, but what is it? For Lutherans, spirituality begins in Baptism and is founded on God's Word. In this study, we unpack what Scripture has to say about afflications in the life of Christians. We endure the cross as it comes in various shapes and sizes, not even though, but because we are Christians.
